For over four decades, the people of Afghanistan have endured tremendous hardship and instability. Poverty, illiteracy, Injustice, and inadequate healthcare have deprived generations of Afghans from their basic human rights while women and girls have particularly been affected under these circumstances. Afghanistan has been grappling with issues such as political instability, economic challenges, insecurity, internal displacement, and natural disasters which affect particularly women, girls, and children.

SHEDO was founded in 2018 as a compassionate response by a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded individuals to address the most urgent and pressing needs of the people of Afghanistan. We exist to empower marginalized Afghan communities through transformative education, advocacy, community development, skills training, healthcare, and livelihood programs.
SHEDO’s holistic programs aim to uplift and transform Afghan communities. We are dedicated to walking alongside the Afghan people as they move towards stability, self-reliance, and a brighter shared future. At SHEDO, we believe in the untiring Afghan spirit. We are honored to facilitate its full expression.
